Interiors

At Rothie Cabins, every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to create a space that feels both grounded and elevated, natural, yet refined. Designed for couples and quiet seekers, our interiors are a celebration of simplicity, sustainability, and comfort.

The cabin includes a kitchen, dining, and living space that flows effortlessly into the outdoors. A mezzanine loft, accessed by a timber ladder, adds a playful touch, while the king size bed offers a peaceful nights sleep.

Sleep deeply on an Emma memory foam mattress, wrapped in European flax linen bedding; a breathable, thermal regulating fabric grown without irrigation and woven for softness and strength. The duck feather and down duvet and pillows provide natural warmth and comfort.

Warmth comes from infrared heaters that gently radiate heat like the sun. Natural ash wood, sourced from local sawmills, features throughout, framing windows, lining the mezzanine, and telling the story of Scotland’s ash trees, ash dieback and the Ash Rise Project.

The kitchen is fully equipped for slow mornings and simple suppers, featuring a fridge, oven, induction hob, and dishwasher. You’ll find a Nespresso coffee machine, recycled glassware, and a full set of kitchen utensils, pots, and pans, along with thoughtful essentials like salt, pepper, oils, and spices. We’ve included plant based, biodegradable cleaning supplies, and waste segregation bins.

Tucked above the main living space, the mezzanine is your cosy corner to unwind. Layered with soft rugs, oversized bean bags, and a curated collection of board games, it’s the perfect spot for slow mornings, lazy afternoons, or rainy days at the cabin. Whether you're sipping tea, reading a book, or getting a little competitive over Scrabble, this chilled out nook invites you to enjoy the simple pleasures together.

Outside, enjoy your own decking area, fire pit, BBQ, and secure garden, with onsite parking, an access ramp, and views that stretch into the mountains.

  • Yes, dogs are very welcome! The cabin includes dog bowls, eco-friendly poo bags, and a secure, fully fenced garden where your dog can roam freely and safely.

    We allow a maximum of two dogs per stay, subject to a pet fee to cover additional cleaning. If you’d like to bring more than two dogs, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

    Please note that other pets, such as cats, are not permitted.

  • We have a 2 night minimum stay, with the exception of bank holiday weekends. where the minimum stay is 3 nights.

    Due to high demand on weekends, we do not offer check-in or check-out on Saturdays. You’re welcome to arrive or depart on any other day of the week.

  • Yes, the cabin offers ample private parking with ramp access directly to the front door.

    We encourage low-carbon travel where possible. The cabin is easily accessible from Aviemore by foot, bike, or bus, all within 30 minutes. A well-lit footpath leads from town, or you can take the number 30 Aviemore Adventurer Stagecoach bus to Rothiemurchus Farm Shop. From there, it’s a scenic 1km walk along a quiet country road to Lower Tullochgrue.

    Wi-Fi is available for your use. This is provided by 4G mobile broadband due to our remote location.

  • The cabin is fully equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay. You'll find a king-size bed with premium European flax linen bedding, a fully fitted kitchen with an oven, induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, and Nespresso Vertuo machine.

    All cooking essentials, including pots, pans, utensils, oils, spices, salt, and pepper, complimentary tea and coffee. Eco-friendly cleaning supplies and waste separation bins, dishwashing liquid and tablets, dish sponge and towels.

  • The cabin is fully equipped for self-catering both indoor and outdoor cooking. There is an oven, grill, and 4-burner induction hob, a full set of pots, pans, oven trays, and cooking utensils, a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, milk frothier, and kettle, and a gas BBQ outside for al fresco dining.
