  • Is there a minimum stay?

    We have a 2 night minimum stay, with the exception of bank holiday weekends. where the minimum stay is 3 nights.

    Due to high demand on weekends, we do not offer check-in or check-out on Saturdays. You’re welcome to arrive or depart on any other day of the week.

  • Is there parking?

    Yes, the cabin offers ample private parking with ramp access directly to the front door.

    We encourage low-carbon travel where possible. The cabin is easily accessible from Aviemore by foot, bike, or bus, all within 30 minutes. A well-lit footpath leads from town, or you can take the number 30 Aviemore Adventurer Stagecoach bus to Rothiemurchus Farm Shop. From there, it’s a scenic 1km walk along a quiet country road to Lower Tullochgrue.

  • Are pets welcome?

    Yes, dogs are very welcome! The cabin includes dog bowls, eco-friendly poo bags, and a secure, fully fenced garden where your dog can roam freely and safely.

    We allow a maximum of two dogs per stay, subject to a pet fee to cover additional cleaning. If you’d like to bring more than two dogs, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

    Please note that other pets, such as cats, are not permitted.

  • When is check in/out?

    You can check in or out on any day of the week- except on Saturdays.

    We also offer a relaxed, late check-out so you can enjoy a slow, peaceful final morning at the cabin.

  • Is there mobile or Wi-Fi signal?

    The cabin currently has 4G/5G mobile signal, though coverage may vary depending on your provider.

    Wi-Fi is available for your use. This is provided by 4G mobile broadband due to our remote location.

    Maximum download speed of 70Mbps and upload speed of 22Mbps. Speeds can vary for many reasons and maximum speeds above are not guaranteed.


  • Are children welcome?

    Sorry, no children or infants.

    Our cabin has been thoughtfully designed as a peaceful retreat for adults, ideal for solo travellers or couples. It is licensed to accommodate a maximum of 2 adults.

  • Is the cabin accessible?

    The cabin has ramp access to the front door and private parking directly outside, making arrival and entry easier for guests with limited mobility.

    However, please note that the mezzanine level is accessed via a timber ladder, which may not be suitable for everyone. If you have specific accessibility needs, feel free to get in touch. We’re happy to help you determine if the cabin is a good fit for your stay.

  • Where is the nearest shop?

    The Rothiemurchus Farm Shop is just 0.5 miles from the cabin. It offers a fantastic selection of local food and drink- we highly recommend the estate-fed beef and venison for a true taste of the Highlands with low food miles.

    You can also pre-order tailored hampers, seasonal veg boxes, cheese or meat selections, and exclusive recipe meal kits online from the Farm Shop to enjoy during your stay.

    For a wider range of essentials, Aviemore town centre is just 2 miles away, with an M&S Service Station, Tesco, Lidl, Home Bargains, Boots Pharmacy, and a Post Office.

  • What activities are nearby?

    Rothie Cabins is perfectly placed for both adventure and relaxation in the heart of the Cairngorms.

  • What cooking facilities are available?

    The cabin is fully equipped for self-catering both indoor and outdoor cooking. There is an oven, grill, and 4-burner induction hob, a full set of pots, pans, oven trays, and cooking utensils, a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, milk frothier, and kettle, and a gas BBQ outside for al fresco dining.

  • What items are provided?

    The cabin is fully equipped for a comfortable and relaxing stay. You'll find a king-size bed with premium European flax linen bedding, a fully fitted kitchen with an oven, induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, and Nespresso Vertuo machine.

    All cooking essentials, including pots, pans, utensils, oils, spices, salt, and pepper, complimentary tea and coffee. Eco-friendly cleaning supplies and waste separation bins, dishwashing liquid and tablets, dish sponge and towels.

    Everything you need for a well-catered stay.
